Heritage Northcote has welcomed its first resident into its new aged care residence in Northcote, with many more set to call it home over the following weeks and months.
Brian McComas moved into the home yesterday with support by his wife Irmgard and his two daughter’s Yvette and Letitia, who enjoyed a family lunch to celebrate the occasion.
Ailiene Faccin, Residence Manager at Heritage Northcote, said: “It is a delight to welcome our first resident and their families to Heritage Northcote. Each resident will be looked after by a comprehensive team of professionals, including those in nursing, personal care, allied health, lifestyle activities, hospitality, administration, maintenance and more.
“At Heritage Care we strive to enrich the lives of older Australians, and we look forward to delivering high quality aged care to our new residents at Heritage Northcote,” added Ailiene.
Brian greatly appreciated the attention and thoughtfulness on the day. “The staff made such a fuss and gave me a lovely photo frame to place in my room,” Brian said.
“The impression you get when you walk in is that it doesn’t feel like a nursing home. So much effort has gone into making the place feel comfortable and homely. Pets can even visit. I can’t wait for Irmgard to bring in our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniel cross’ for a visit.”
Heritage Care has created a warm and welcoming community for seniors with plenty of spaces for socialisation and relaxation, from cosy lounges with gas fireplaces and striking courtyards to a stunning garden area for barbeques and entertaining.
The new team at Heritage Northcote is led by an experienced leadership team and will offer the highest level of service to residents, encompassing Premium Services, dementia friendly care, palliative care and respite care.
