The Opportunity on Offer

As the Lifestyle Assistant you will assist in the delivery of person-centred leisure and lifestyle programs that embrace evidenced based contemporary practice, supporting residents to achieve their personal goals.

How you will make an Impact

You will report to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Director of Nursing at the Home and be a key member of the team. Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Under the direction of the Lifestyle Coordinator, assists with planning, implementing and evaluating programmes which are designed to meet individual needs of residents.
  • Informs residents, families and staff of the range of programmes available and maintains interaction with consumers and their families to ensure the provision of person-centred care.
  • Assist with providing and maintaining dementia specific programmes to assist with behaviour management.
  • Assist residents to achieve maximum independence, maintain friendships and participate within the community.
  • Under the direction of the Lifestyle Coordinator, ensure individual interests, customs, beliefs, cultural and ethnic backgrounds are valued, fostered and residents 'cultural safety is maintained.
  • Participating in quality improvement activities, accreditation and leisure and lifestyle policy and procedures.

You are an individual with a caring nature who gets satisfaction in making a positive difference in the lives of our residents everyday. You enjoy working in a team where no two days are the same. You are excited to put your ideas into action and make a contribution to the wider community.

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health
  • Computer literacy
  • Current NDIS Workers Screening Check
  • Current Covid-19 Vaccinations (highly recommended)
  • Evidence of the right to work in Australia (Valid working rights)
  • Experience in Aged Care, preferably residential setting
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
