New technologies in aged care

By embracing new technologies in aged care, we can facilitate greater resident engagement and staff well-being.

Heritage Care continuously adopts new technologies to improve service levels to residents and families. An increase in staff time with residents by using mobile technology, and improved services to Residents and families through planned user portals, are just some of the positive outcomes we’re working towards.

Acredia software

Acredia is our clinical management system. It was chosen because it is at the forefront of innovative development in our sector. Its mobile application software will empower staff to record clinical and care support notes via a smartphone, without returning to a nurse’s station. We plan to roll out Acredia’s Care Direct mobile technology to Heritage Care homes in the second half of 2024.

“Staff will be empowered to record clinical and care support notes via a smartphone, without returning to a nurse’s station.”

Electronic administration and medication charting

By introducing electronic administration and medication management, we have simplified safe medication administration, clinical safety, compliance, and governance.

SleepSense technology

We have invested in SleepSense technology which is being trialed in one residence currently. Unlike traditional care observations requiring regular interruptions to the resident, this technology provides for the central monitoring of residents via room-installed sensors. Key benefits are uninterrupted sleep and greater privacy and dignity for all residents, as well as peace of mind for families of vulnerable residents.

Advanced pressure care technology

We’ve introduced advanced pressure care mattress technology for those requiring additional relief for pressure sores. This innovation includes auto-calibration, providing customised resident repositioning to help prevent pressure injuries.

Upgrading our finance system

In the coming months we will transition to a new financial management system. It’s planned to be made available to residents and families’ user portals to facilitate their administration.
